Time is forever changing,
seasons change,
fashion changes,
looks change ( I wish I stayed looking 20)
habits change,
quilt designs change,
fabric changes or what ones I like or dislike changes....
and now this blog is changing.....

It's name!

I could not use a computer program
at all when I started this blog...
I changed.. he he....
My DS helped me start this blog and it had a name just because..
after much thought
I would like to change the name to something I like.
It won't effect my URL or address...
that will stay the same...
just the Blog name is changing.
You won't have to change your
following status...or blogs I follow list
Google does that for you!

I will be back in two days with the new name
and a Giveaway... yeah
any excuse for a giveaway.......
Here's a sneak peek!

Remember you don't need to change the address
it will stay the same.

Happy Stitching

"Red Club last Saturday"

Last weekend I had another 'Red Club" day
at the Patchwork Apple in Woodside.
That means Allie I am posting your little quilt
from the last 'Red Club' day to you this week.
Heather and I had a lovely day, relaxing, sewing, chatting
with the ladies in the class
but all I managed to complete
was some very very small hexagons....
red ones of course...

and one small hexi flower.....
I am hooked....
they are 3/4 inch and so tiny
as you can see in the picture next to a five cent piece.
The pattern is 'Ruby's Little Quilts' by Marg Lowe
and it is adorable......
I will be definitely be making more of these in the future.
Do you make hexagons?
Have a try! They are addictive though!

Happy Stitching.

Follow Your Dreams!

Yesterday Australia as a Nation witnessed the
end to an incredible journey by an incredible young lady.

photo used from
Jessica Watson attempted to be the youngest person ever to sail
solo and unassisted around the world.
She attempted to circumnavigate the Southern Hemisphere.
And she made it.
She overcame many obsticles and acheived her Dream!
What a great role model for young people.
Dream a dream and then Go for it!

photo used from
I watched the broadcast of her arriving in Sydney and was
so encouraged as a parent of two young girls
that I must encourage them to follow their dreams.

While I was watching TV, I sat stitching a cushion
for my girls to put on their bed to remember Jessica
and what she acheived and that they can too
just 'Follow their Dreams' and acheive them.

I have added the template for you to make a cushion
for the young person you know or for yourself.
Download the templates here...
Cut a 12 1/2" square, raw edge applique the yacht and sails
quilt the background and then stitch
the words( 2 threads) and ropes (3 threads).
make a backing and bind the edges like a quilt.

Happy Stitching
and 'Follow your Dreams'
your never too old.

Mummy's day!

I had a lovely Mummy's day
The girls bought me breakfast in bed and that was yum..
one bought me toast DH carried the cup of tea...

Oh what was the other DD going to carry
DH had a great idea..
a chocky biscuit and not just any chocky biscuit
a Tim Tam... yum yum...on a pink plate

how cute were they...
they walked in giggling and laughing
made this mumma sweet of them.
DS's also sent me lovely text messages to my mobile... he he
DS no1 when he awoke about 4 hours after me...Lol
he's living in Perth W.A.
DS no2 on his way to church....
and that made me so proud...
a teenager who still goes to church when all his friends are
recovering from the late Sat night they had.... way to go.
Made this mumma so happy.
I love my kids so much...
Nana had a lovely Nana's day too...
here are the girls making Nana ( my Mum)
a Mothers Day card ....Nana loved them...

Hope you all had a lovely day too.

And what have I been doing since...
being a nurse/mummy to 2 sick DD's.....
their feeling a little unwell
and needing more hugs and cuddles.
Lots of TLC and playing puzzles and
watching some kiddy shows.
Not much sewing being accomplished
but I will soon get some done...
I need too!

Happy Stitching

Party Boy, Sneak Peak, Paper Roses...........and Beauty is Timeless!

DS's 18th birthday party was so lovely...
we had about 45 people turn up
and the weather was really nice...
bit cool but we had cover and jackets.
Lots of yummy food, a great BBQ
which darling hubby was in charge of,
lots of yummy deserts...
mini bite size pavlova's, cream puffs, anzac's,
and chocolate mud cake for the birthday cake.
Only thing that went wrong was my
camera decided to not work
so no nice pictures from my camera.

I will have to rely on some friends who took lots of pictures.
The photo above looks good of DS and his lolly filled Pinata..
It was full of lollies for them to burst and eat!

The week before last I had received
lots of mail and this delightful
pattern came.... It is absolutely gorgeous
and if you want a really easy pattern
and wanting to use some of those
charm packs you might
have stashed then this is for you...
Paper Roses by Joanna Figuero of Fig Tree quilts.
Can't wait to make this now.

And I said I had a sneak peak

and here it is
another little part of my new wall hanging..
Don't you just love that fabric... "Whimsy'
it is so sweet and beautiful to work with,
Can you guess what it is?
Now I have just seen this amazingly gorgeous cushion.
'Beauty is Timeless'

it really caught my attention.
Now I am going to make one for myself
and my Mum and you can too.
This gorgeous cushion was made by
Jenny of Elefantz in aid of
UNHCR Worlds biggest MOTHERS DAY relief package.

All Jenny's proceeds from the sale of the pattern will
go in aid of this wonderful cause.
BUT you can only purchase this for One week only..
up until the 9th of May
I have bought my pattern have you bought yours yet?
I am going to make it this week.....
Wonder what fabrics I'll choose to make it up?

Have a Wonderfully Blessed week.
