or should I say really really early this morning.
I was carrying my DD 3yo from the toilet...
it was 1am and she didn't want to walk from the toilet to her bed
So I picked her up... holding her on my left side.
I started to walk and must have
put all my weight on my left foot.
Something went SNAP and OUCH OUCH OUCH!
I settled Miss K back to bed and then went to bed myself.
All night I kept turning over and thinking OUCH!
Today I called my friend who is a podiatrist..
great to know, comes in handy...
she has been brilliant lots of times...
and explained what I did...
she advised an x-ray was needed and here we are
Sorry about the picture being blurry...
The doctor I saw, said I have torn the ligament
and possibly a small shard off the bone... OUCH
It hurts a lot....and is very swollen...
so I am out of action for a little while.
Lots of Rest.. he he
and stitching can be done sitting down.. yeah
and I have lots of stitching planned.. he he
and I have lots of stitching planned.. he he
And if the cat scan next week confirms the x-ray well
I may be looking at an op??? hopefully not...
Praying it heals this next week and no more problems.
Hoppy sewing..LOL
Hugs

Poor Dawn.... I do hope you get lots of rest although that is not easy if you have young children.
Fingers crossed that you won't need that operation.
Thinking of you.
Poor you. Hope you get lots of stitching done and your foot can get better with resting as you stitch. Prayers sent your way.
Oh gosh Dawn, how terrible, you don't want an operation. Get plenty of rest and take care.

Big Hugs & Love,

Ouch! I can imagine the pain - and I always think - if I have to damage something please make it feet / legs not hands / arms. And as much as you will enjoy your extra stitching time - it will be awkward with little ones to look after. Hopefully going back to school will help! Take Care
Oh no that is terrible ........ I hope you don't have to have surgery..... It's not your pedal foot is it?

Please see if you can get hold of Arnica tablets, they will help bring the swelling down & help your foot heal from the inside.
They are herbal and really do work, even if you start taking them well after the event
Kim
You are not off to a good start this year are you my love????....any excuse to get lots of stitching done!!! LOL Take care sweets and my thoughts and prayers are with you
XXXX sugary hugs

Dawn that is bad news......good luck with the scan next week........
better pull out the gardener's journal........
Hey Dawn! Wow, some people will go to drastic measures to get some stitching time in! Tee! Hee! Hee! Seriously ... having a 'dodgy' ankle myself, I know how frustrating it is to be a 'hop-along-Casidy'. Hope the rest, good wishes and prayers all combine to make an op unnecessary. Big Bear Hugs! KRIS
well...one way to get some more stitching time in the day! Hope it heals with out an op......take care and enjoy your stitching!
Oh Dawn, ouch! I have alot of problems with my ankle, so I can imagine the pain you went through last night. Please take it easy, foot injuries take a long time to heal and if you don't take care of them can reinjure easily while healing. But like you "hinted" it will be a great time to get some hand stitching done. Take care.
